thursday shopping 1-20-11 (and weekly shopping linky)

It was another great week for stockpiling at Publix!  Today may have been my least eventful shopping excursion ever, so I apologize for the boring post.  I had to gather a lot of coupons this morning, but amazingly enough, it  only took me about an hour & a half to get my list ready and coupons clipped.  The girls stayed relatively entertained watching the Wiggles (thanks again Brittany!) while I prepped.  (Trouble did manage to tear all the wipes out of the container, fall out of the computer chair, and press every button on both the computer and the printer about a billion times, but really that was pretty mild compared to her normal brand of terror.)

Our outing to the store also went unusually smooth–the girls stayed in the cart the entire time with no yelling, hair pulling, or throwing food–and we were in and out in less than an hour.  Of course when I got home I realized I hadn’t taken advantage of any of the great Kimberly Clark deals, so I may have to pop in on Sunday when they are also having the 50% off all Kellogg’s cereal sale.

Here is what I got:

At Publix I spent $27.56 for $170.50 worth of groceries, a savings of 84%.

Coupons used:

Combined with my Sunday totals, this week I spent $34.86 for $508.63 worth of groceries and drugstore merchandise, an average savings of 93% for the week.

I am just not getting it. I am seeing the coupons you used but I am a more visual learner, need the prices less coupons to see the savings.

Publix will accept any other stores coupons (Target as well as others) as well as the stacking of their monthly booklets, right?

And what is the Blissdom swag?

thanks and I do appreciate all your sharing–still trying to learn it

Blissdom is a blogging conference in Nashville that I will be attending next week. The conference sponsors mailed out a package this past week to all the attendees that was full of goodies and coupons. (Lucky me!)

I can definitely appreciate needing to all see the prices . I don’t normally post all of that because it takes me so long just to list the coupons that I don’t have time for anything else, but since you asked and my girls are finally asleep, here is the list of what I bought that corresponds to the Qs listed above:

      (2) Fresh Express: BOGO @ $3.69 = $1.85 ea – Qs = $0.85 ea
      (6) Hunts Tomatoes: BOGO @ $1.35 = $0.68 -Qs = $0.03 ea
      (12) Ragu Sauce: BOGO @ $2.53 = $1.27 -Qs = $1.02 ea
      (6) Yoplait YoPlus: BOGO @ $2.00 = $1.00 – Qs = $0.33 ea
      (14) HealthyRequest Soup: BOGO @ $2.39 = $1.20 – Qs = $0.70 ea
      (6) Homestyle Mac & Cheese: BOGO @ $2.59 = $1.30 – Qs = $0.30 ea
      (4) Hall’s Cough Drops: BOGO @ $1.65 = $0.83 – Qs = $0.28 ea
      (2) Crisco Vegetable Oil: BOGO @ $3.42 = $1.71- Qs = $1.16 ea
      (2) Mrs. Paul’s Fishsticks: BOGO @ $4.49 = $2.25 ea
      (4) Steamfresh Vegetables: Free after Qs = $0.00 ea
      (1) Freschetta Pizza: Free after Qs = $0.00 ea
      (1) Marie Callendars: Free after Qs = $0.00 ea
      (5) DayQuil Travel Size: $1.29 ea – Qs = ($0.21) (moneymaker)
      (3) Sundown Vitamin A: $3.29 ea -Qs = ($0.71) moneymaker)
      (3) Sundown Vitamin B6: $3.59 -Qs = ($0.41) (moneymaker)

And finally yes, Publix will accept other competitor grocery store coupons. Some Publix stores accept Target as a competitor while others do not. They do allow stacking (using a store coupon with a manufacturer’s coupon) as well.

I hope that helps make it more clear for you! :-)

Thank you so much for taking the time to do that! I’ve been trying to do all of these things at Publix, went on Wed and wasn’t as successful but also didn’t buy anything that was not on my list. Had the coupons for the oatmel $1′s for the b1g1, did a bag of Hall’s so didn’t do too bad.
I’ll have to lay in a supply of ink for all the great coupons that are just now coming out. :)
