a BIG announcement: thursday shopping 9-22-11 {& weekly shopping linky}

I had a fun little shopping trip today.  There wasn’t too much I needed to get but I was psyched to see those Orville Redenbacher pop-up bowls on sale.  I love those things!   I  also made a little video today, but it wasn’t to show here.  It is for my NEW…(wait for it)….

ONLINE COUPON CLASS!!

(Can I get a little woot woot?)

I have been wanting to get an online class going for over a year, and judging by the number of comments and emails I have gotten about it, lots of you are very interested.  My biggest problem was trying to figure out a way to host the class, as well as making the class a little different (and even more instructional) from everything you can already get on this site for free.

Then, a few months ago a very nice lady from a company called Growth Education contacted me to find out if I would be interested in developing an online coupon class.  (Well, um, yes as a matter of fact I would!)  Growth Education offers online life enrichment courses through over 150 community colleges nationwide and I knew right away it was a perfect fit!

The online class, like my in-person workshops, will be based on The LWSL Beginner’s Guide to Coupons.  It will be a 6-week course, with one lesson and assignment per week.  In addition to the class text, the lessons will also feature exclusive videos that won’t be available on YouTube.  These videos will go more in depth to the subject being covered in each lesson.  Finally, participants in the online class will have access to a special Skype chat room, where you will be able to ask questions each other, and occasionally chat with me.  I will have specific Skype “office” hours twice a week.

The cost for the 6 week class is $49.99.  You will be able to enroll right here at LWSL, so don’t worry if your local community college doesn’t offer it!  As soon as the registration is live, I will let you guys know.  The first class starts October 16th, and subsequent classes will be held every 6 weeks after that.

If you are interested in taking the class please email me at Ruth@LivingWellSpendingLess.com, and I will email you with the registration details.

And if you are still awake after that very long announcment, don’t forget to head on over to the SWSL Facebook page this week for another chance to win your very own Qubie Coupon Organization System just like the one I use (a $49.99) value!

Remember, entering is super easy.  Just click on the “GiveAway” link found on the lefthand menu (clicking from here should take you right to that page), then follow the instructions.

I will pick & announce a winner over at SWSL on Saturday, September 24th!
