Thrifty Thursday {Week 59}

Thrifty Thursday Square

Happy Thursday!  I hope you are all having a fabulous week!  For the past few days I have been in Orlando attending the SCORRE Conference, which offers super intense hands-on training for speakers.  Every day we have had to prepare and deliver a five minute speech using the principles we are learning, and then listen as we are critiqued.  I’m not going to lie–I have shed a lot of tears this week!  Even so, I have learned a TON and I know that both my speaking AND writing are going to be so much more powerful as a result of being stretched this week.  Sometimes growth is painful!!

So my challenge to all of you is to try to do something new this week, something that scares the pants off of you!  Stretch yourself to go outside of your comfort zone and you might just be amazed at the results!

    Way to go Ruth!! My husband at one time was very active in Toastmasters and it really improved his game in so many ways. I can only imagine what a week long intensive would do. You are going to rock our socks off here.

    Good for you! I still remember freaking out over handing out flowers to the Kindergarten teacher and principal at Kindergarten graduation, no matter that I did much better a year later standing up as a Girl Scout leader in front of a group of parents.

  6. I love that you are still learning and growing! Isn’t that what life is all about! Good for you Ruth! Blessings 😀

    You are so right, Ruth. Growth does equal some pain, and we have to go through the pain to grow. Thanks for sharing, and blessings this weekend!
