Happy Thursday! This week I am in the Dominican Republic with Compassion International. It has been a pretty intense week so far, and I’m not going to lie–I’ve cried. A lot. And I’m not normally a crier. But these kids have my heart and they are not letting go. Our goal is not only to raise awareness about some of the incredible work Compassion is doing in that country, but to help 300 kids find sponsors this week!

I would love to invite each of you to follow our journey online, on Instagram, or by following #compassionbloggers on Twitter, and to consider making a difference in the life of a child this week through sponsorship. Your money does so much here–I’ve seen it firsthand!

I have been following your journey to the Dominican and am blown away. We are sharing it with our children as well because this weekend we are going to the Compassion Experience and then choosing a child to adopt. I would love to be there with you right now loving on those children!! Talk about what breaks my heart!

Hi Ruth, Praying for your time and safe returns. I shared with my kids about using some of their allowance to sponsor a child, and they all want to do it! Praise the Lord! Thanks for sharing your journeys!

Thank you so much for featuring my One Income Budget post! I love reading your DR stories and I can’t wait to hear more. I’m trying to convince the hubs to sponsor a child but not sure he’ll go for it since he wanted to give up tithing in order to increase our debt snowball. But I have my ways of convincing him 🙂

Ruth, I have been to the Dominican Republic and have seen the conditions. I was impressed by how the locals integrate themselves into the tourist attractions. I learned how to make coffee in the mountains there. Enjoy the experience. Thanks for hosting!
