Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Cento Cherry Peppers Hoagie spread
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 4-5 lb whole roasting chicken
  • 1 can beer

Instructions

  1. Clean chicken, then pat dry and set aside. Mix together the hoagie spread and the olive oil in a measuring cup.

  2. Place chicken in a gallon size bag, then pour marinade over top. Massage marinade over chicken, then push out extra air and seal bag. Allow chicken to marinate for at least 12 hours.

  3. On cooking day, take the chicken out of the fridge at least 5 minutes before you start your grill. Spray grill with non-stick cooking spray and adjust the temperature to medium-high. Pour yourself half of the beer then take the chicken out of the bag and place it over the open half-filled beer can. Balance beer can with chicken on grill and close grill lid.

  4. Cook for an hour and 15 minutes, the internal temperature should read 165 in the breast and 180 in the thighs. Carefully, remove can of beer from chicken.

  5. Let chicken rest for 3 minutes then carve and serve with your favorite sides.

Recipe Notes

The can of beer will be extremely hot and will still be full of liquid. Use oven mitts to remove can carefully and throw can of beer away.
