Ingredients

  • 1/2 package spaghetti (8 oz)
  • 1 jar tomato sauce
  • 1 lb frozen meatballs
  • 1 16 oz container ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat large saucepan over medium heat; add butter or olive oil & sauté frozen meatballs until lightly browned on outside but not cooked through, about 5 minutes.

  2. Add sauce to meatballs; cover and simmer 10-15 minutes.

  3. Fill large pot with water and bring to a boil; cook pasta according to package directions. Drain pasta.

  4. Place pasta back in pot and add 1/4 cup spaghetti sauce to pasta and gently mix together.

  5. Arrange a nest of pasta inside greased pie plate to form “crust” of pie.

  6. In medium-sized bowl, combine ricotta and Parmesan cheeses.

  7. Spread ricotta mixture in over pasta, leaving at least 1″ of pasta showing along the edge.

  8. Spread sauce and meatballs over ricotta, again leaving the pasta showing along the edge, and making sure meatballs are evenly spaced.

  9. Sprinkle top of pie with 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
